Affordable Photography Backgrounds

  A few years ago I bought two 8x8 backgrounds from this eBay seller hoyafotoworld. 

 I did have a few problems with the photography backgrounds.   After about a year the seams came apart I was able to fix this with some heat tape from Hobby Lobby. Also the backgrounds started to get some odd fading in a few areas. This was easy to fix in photo shop. Aside from these issues I am still very happy with the backgrounds.

I paid roughly around $40 per background.  I found this to be a pretty good price compared to other places that wanted about $100 per background.  

I decided it's time to order some more backgrounds.  So I purchased three new backgrounds which will be arriving soon.  The backgrounds come from China so it takes awhile to receive them.  I normally get 8x8 backgrounds but this seller only offered 10x10 in the backgrounds I wanted on two of them. I am not sure what to aspect. It's been over 2 years since my last order and I am sure a 10x10 will have more seams.  

I will try and do a video review on the new backgrounds and older ones soon. It would have been nice to have found some reviews on some of the backgrounds before purchasing them when I was shopping, so I am sure it will help someone else.

 Below are some photos I have taken with the first two 8x8 backgrounds I purchased a few years ago so you can see the results.

It's been awhile since I have posted anything on my blog. I am going to try and keep up the blog more this year specially during storm chasing season. 


Well I added a new tool to the chasing vehicle. I bought the Wilson whole car signal booster. I made the switch to Verizon wireless  from at&t last year due to all the data problems I was having. I still found my self running into issues even with Verizon. My verzion Iphone 5 does work better on there network then at&t but I still needed more so this week I bought the Wilson Signal booster.


Having good internet on the road while chasing can make a big difference in getting reliable weather updates.  Not only this but I don't do photography full time.  I work as a digital copyright defense agent full time protecting movies from piracy theft.
I work on the go while chasing so I can chase just about everything. 
Without reliable data I can't do my job also. 


So in the next few weeks I will have this booster in my chase vehicle.
I will do a full review in the next few weeks after I have tested it more thoroughly.  

Storm Chasing BUST April 27th

I went storm chasing yesterday. Drove all the way up to Independence KS setup near the Dry line and waited unfortunately didn't end up with anything worth while to chase.  


I manged to get some good cloud photos and some other misc shots. I will post some of the photos I took shortly


 

MY CANON 5D MARK III

Well I got my Canon 5D Mark III yesterday. I had this camera pre ordered on Amazon.com and as of today they still haven't updated there stock information. I don't believe the camera can be sold until Friday the 23rd I was able to find a store locally in Oklahoma that has one in stock and I am pretty sure they sold it to me by mistake not knowing the camera had a street date.

 I am upgrading from the Canon T3i to the 5D mark III. This camera is very fast, it's 23 mega pixel my t3i was only 18 mega pixel , not much of a jump but the image quality is much better.  The cameras focusing system is very nice.

I will post more information about the 5D mark III once I have had a chance to use it more.

2012 Swimsuit Photo Contest

All models trying out will receive 4 or more final, low resolution edited images ( NON PRINTABLE ) & a 1 hour or more outdoor swimsuit photo shoot for their time. No modeling experience is required to enter. 3 lucky winners will receive a free modeling photo shoot. There will be a $5.00 non refundable entry fee. The first 3 people to sign up will not be charged an entry fee. Contestants will appear on facebook in a public album, the contestant that has the most likes will win.
